Chapter 13,14,15 Great expectations

In chapter 13 Pip has accepted to become Joe’s apprentice.This then means he is taken to town hall to do so.

A few years later Pip is still working for Joe in the forge,however he is very un satisfied with his life.

One day Pip tries to convince Joe for him to visit the Satis house but advises him to stay away.We then meet Joe’s worker Orlick, a cruel pessimistic man who gets into a argument with Mrs Joe.Joe however quickly stops the argument by telling Orlick off.When Pip visits the Satis house.Miss Havisham tells him that Estella has gone away.This makes Pip not go to tHe Satis house that often anymore.As Pip comes home he sees his sister has been attacked on the head and cannot speak.

Chapter 16,17,18

There has been a crime and a leg iron has been found and the attacker has struck Mrs Joe on the back with the leg iron but it wasn’t a recent leg iron.Pip suspects its Orlick or the man who gave him the two one pound notes.Mrs Joe has lost her hearing and can hardly see due to the assault and later she tries to draw out picture,though Joe and Pip don’t understand.Biddy come to live with The Gargerys and can understand Mrs Joe very well.One day Mrs Joe then draws a picture of a hammer and Biddy realises that she is calling for Orlick.When Mrs Joe sees Orlick she is very happy to see him.People now suspect that Joe had done struck his wife with the leg iron.

Biddy now has moved in with Mrs Joe to keep watch of her and with chapter 17,Biddy and Pip argue about how unsatisfactory his life is.He also confessed that he is attracted to Estella and Biddy therefore tells him to stay away from her. This makes Pip even more frustrated

In chapter 18, Pip is listening to Mr Wopsle talking about a murder trial that happened within the newspaper ,just then a lawyer questions Mr Wopsle about it, Humiliating him.The man is Mr Jagger’s  The man that Pip met in the Satis house which had bushy brows and hands that smelt of soap.Afterwards he walks Joe and Pip home to say that Pip could become a gentleman and receive money but could not know where it was from
